Blue Shirt Day
Help us go blue every May for the 1 in 8 Kiwis affected by asthma. Blue Shirt Day raises vital funds for education, research and advocacy to help create a future where fewer lives are lost to asthma.
Every year, 96 people die from asthma - that’s almost two lives lost every week to a condition many don’t realise can be deadly.
Blue Shirt Day is your chance to get involved, show support for the 1 in 8 Kiwi affected by asthma, and help raise vital funds for education, advocacy, and awareness.
Each year, on the first Tuesday in May, we call on all Kiwis to stand together by going blue.
You can do that by buying an official Blue Shirt Day t-shirt, host your own fundraiser, join an existing event, or simply donate to support our vital work.
Why Blue Shirt Day matters
In New Zealand, asthma affects one in eight people and nearly two people die each week from this disease.
Behind these statistics are real people - parents, children, whānau, and friends - all struggling to catch their breath and fight for the next one.
How to get involved
